THE PHILOSOPHY
APPELLES was an ancient Greek artist most famous for his portraits of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, and of Alexander the Great.
During his regular bouts of creativity, Appelles would enter a trance-like state, cover himself with fragrant oils and herbs, and roll onto the canvas. The resulting creation was a vivid multi-sensory experience.
The artist's ingenuity, to include herbs and fragrances in his works, is the inspiration behind incorporating essential oils and fragrances into a skincare brand from which APPELLES was born.
The Appelles Apothecary range was developed with the intention of creating a good, honest skincare range utilising the finest Australian certified organic ingredients and delivering it to the world.
Scientifically proven skincare technology combined with natural ingredients, known throughout the ages to stimulate healthy skin and hair, are enriched with powerful vitamins and extracts and infused with indigenous oil blends forming the foundation that is the Apothecary range.
The distinct scents of the indigenous oil blends are indicative of the
approach adopted by APOTHECARY to produce a range reflective of the Australian lifestyle and our approach to skin and hair care in general.
